Anamaría Acevedo

As she has lived in various countries with very different cultures, she brings a “cultural lens” to the work she does and has become a fervent advocate for diversity and inclusion. Anamaría has worked in a range of sectors including technology, banking, family offices, the philanthropy sector and the creative industries.

After a long and successful international career in architecture as a lead designer on multi-million-pound projects, Anamaría found herself living a very stressful and unfulfilling life. When in 2011 the dissatisfaction turned into burn out and depression, she decided to switch careers and found her purpose in coaching and a passion in mental health.

Through her practice, The Life Architect, Anamaría uses her experience to assist individuals and teams to find their authentic and creative leadership and their power to fully engage with life and their relationships. She believes that the principles of excellent design extend to building successful lives and organisations, so she helps her clients to demolish limitations, design values and strength-based visions and build with their full potential their fulfilling vision.

With over 12 years of experience, Anamaría has been committed to the development of individuals and teams all around the world from a vast range of backgrounds. She has supported her clients to navigate uncertainty, successfully overcome difficult transition and create sustainable change, strategize though innovation and creativity, and shift mindsets and expand choice, so they can show up in the world powerfully and with impact.

Anamaría is a very creative individual and she is passionate about design, photography and Latin dancing. She is a jewellery designer and has her own jewellery brand. Anamaría has been a meditator for 15 years and is a qualified yoga teacher. She spends her free time drawing, reading, dancing and taking long walks in nature. Humour and lightness are really important to her.

Words of warrior wisdom:

Martha Postlewaite – Clearing

Do not try to save

the whole world

or do anything grandiose.

Instead, create

a clearing

in the dense forest

of your life

and wait there

patiently,

until the song

that is your life

falls into your own cupped hands

and you recognize and greet it.

Only then will you know

how to give yourself

to this world

so worthy of rescue.

By helping people to create a clearing in the dense forest of their lives will allow them to recognise who they truly are so they can offer their gifts to the world.
